When you are choosing Vaser Liposuction

Liposuction was introduced in 1985 in a French seminar which stayed on, for prior to that there have been a number of introduction and trials and a handful of surgeons practicing the same that have failed to gain a successive branch in the medical tree that often broke being a tentatively invasive surgery often resulting in good amount of blood loss, permanent or long term bruising, scarring and long term post operative complications.

But since the introduction of the Tumescent Technique in the 1985 French seminar by some talented surgeons, it began to gain a stronghold in the branch of cosmetic surgery in the medical tree. The tumescent technique is the way of using proper anaesthetic agents to prepare the treatable area for the surgery controlling much blood loss and bruising.

Since the introduction of Liposuction in the 1980s a number of new techniques have been introduced from various parts of the world. Ruling the roost is Smart Lipo, which uses laser light to burn down body fat with a non-invasive procedure and Vaser Liposuction which uses ultrasound vibrations to do the same. Sometimes doctors use a combination of both for perfected results.

Procedure

Smart Lipo (Laser Assisted Liposuction) and Vaser Liposuction (Ultrasound assisted Liposuction) looks like the same at the procedure. They start by first marking the fat areas in the patient, then lying the patient down on the operating table; they inject anesthetic drugs in a continual manner, with several injections. This makes the area become numb and tumescent. Then a small incision is made with a blunt tip cannula. The needle is generated with special laser lights which burn the fatty cells as gently the doctor moves the needle back and forth. Once the fat has liquefied, an aspirator which is attached with the cannula, sucks up the liquefied fat via the cannula into a jar.

This done, the doctors stitch up the puncture wounds, sometime the keep some punctures unstitched and just bandage them. And with a compression garment, the surgery is done. With the compression garment tightly wrapped around, patient’s body gets accustomed to the lost fat and changes in shape.
For several weeks a swelling and bloating sensation remains, as left off fats bleed through the open wounds. The bandages are regularly dressed and the patient is allowed to shower. With follow up massage therapies, light exercise and healthy diet, the results are supposed to occur after 2-3 and finalizing after 5-6 months.

Benefits and Risks

Smart Lipo – Its risks combine burns and bruises which fade off within a week. Sometimes the patients complain of severe pain as the trocar needle moves in their body, this happens due to the patients sensitivity to pain and ineffective anesthetics. Infections in the wounded area are also in the records. Sometimes it results in necrosis.
The risk factors of Smart Lipo are at a rate of 5% - 6% which can be controlled by talented doctors. The benefits of Smart Lipo show maximum signs of good results. Other than body fat removal, its laser light system is very effective for mole removal, lip augmentation etc.

Vaser Lipo – scarring, bruising, infections are the only risks, it’s supposed to less or no painful procedure. It uses vibrations so is beneficial in reaching the deep layers of fat with maximum suction.  It’s a most common lipo for men, for male breast reduction.

The benefits of both are good, the risks are almost similar. It’s after all, a personalized treatment, which a talented doctor could best evaluate at the consultation period, understanding the patient and their viable needs. Sometimes, doctors even combine both the systems for a prominent result.
